This project was designed to help me to understand the more sophisticated uses of Substance Painter, particularly using a high-to-low poly workflow and baking normal maps. Building the project around a humanoid character facilitated this as I was able to test these techniques with detailed skin textures.
The character himself was something which developed as I worked. I had a basic idea of some kind of living weapon that had broken its chains and was ready to create mayhem.
